NoteCaddy is a remarkable poker tool that works along side poker tracking software such as Hold'em Manager and Poker Tracker 3. It is an automated note taking & colour coding program. Online poker players all know the importance of note taking, and your HUD statistics cannot tell the whole story. NoteCaddy takes notes for you, it reads the hand histories and notes on behaviours that are significant. NoteCaddy is fully customisable and there are millions upon millions of combinations. As well as taking notes on behaviours, NoteCaddy can identify patterns and frequencies that will allow you to understand the way your opponents play more so than your HUD alone can. Poker tracking software such as Poker Office, PokerTracker3 and Hold'em Manager have implemented a feature to allow players to take notes directly from their HUD, by simply clicking on the notes icon, despite this ease of access many players today fail to take appropriate notes on their opponents. NoteCaddy can also automatically colour codes your opponents from PokerStars and FullTilt based on their playing style. This is also fully customisable and the NoteCaddy user manual gives you detailed guidance on how to colour code your opponents. You are then able to see at a quick glance over the table or in the lobby what type of players are playing where- now you can find those fish with ease. NoteCaddy comes with 10 preset colour codes with the typical player types such as TAG, rock, fish and calling station.
Some online players like to have the notes displayed in the poker client rather than from their poker trackers HUD. NoteCaddy allows you to easily synchronise the notes you have in your database with the notes you have in your poker client. This is also useful for making backups. By far the most powerful feature of
NoteCaddy is the ability to create customised definitions for notes
that NoteCaddy should take. There is no limit
for unique definitions and when properly used, this feature
can prove itself to be incredibly useful. The power
of note definitions comes from the ability to specify
a series of things that need to be true in order for
something to be considered noteworthy.
NoteCaddy also
allows you to filter, this feature is
perhaps underrated. It is more powerful than it first appears. With
this, you can take notes based on things happening too
often or not often enough. For example, you can filter for
minimum occurrences- the number of times a definition has
to be taken before it will show up as a note. For example
if you play with regulars with thousands of hands you
may not want to know about a particular behaviour that has
only occurred once. Other filters include minimum
player hand sample and minimum success percent. You can
also analyse a specific hand in NoteCaddy using the test
environment area. All you need to do is copy and
paste the hand history and NoteCaddy gives you a
complete analysis.

The latest version of NoteCaddy 1 has many added features including-
- Added support for Entraction Network
- The ability to add a black list of players who should not be colour coded
- The ability to clear NoteCaddy generated colour coding for FullTilt & PokerStars
- When making a note definition inactive, you can now have the ability to remove all the notes it generated from your database
- Added support for Everest Poker
- Added support for Boss Poker
- The ability to remove alphabetization on note persistence to retain order of manual notes.
- Improved board texture variables so that it specifies when the flushes hit ( eg backdoor)
- Added 'range' version of most variables so that many notes that currently occupy multiple lines can be done on one line
- Added 'must act flop/turn/river' check boxes so that it can determine if a player was all-in on a previous street
- Added 'versus hero' check boxes to previous actions as well as player types. It is no longer necessary to make a hero profile in colour coding. Using this option will also lead to faster processing times
- Modified general strength algorithm.
- Added manual pre-flop bet sizing option.
- Added option to show percentages of success when considering opportunities
- Added ability to resume colour coding process if it is stopped while processing
- Added re-order option for grouping categories. This can be used if you change the order of your groups or if your grouping breaks somehow.
- Added support for Pacific Poker
- More requirements for colour coding. You can now require that a player have certain NoteCaddy notes in order to qualify for a colour coding.
- Added BB/100 as an option for colour coding.
- Added a variable $flopposition. This will print IP or OOP depending on if the player was in position on the flop.
- Added usability improvements.
- Added the ability to specify player types for both "hero" and "enemy" players. This will allow you to take notes only for certain types of players.
- Modified the way that $cardrange renders the range enumeration. Now it sorts by most profitable hands descending. "Unknown" is also never printed.
- The biggest improvement for version 1.07 is the feature allowing you the ability to view the hand that caused NoteCaddy to take a note in the first place. This new screen adds a new dimension to the functionality of NoteCaddy now allowing you to use it as a game study tool, also allowing you to profile your opponents further.
The newest version of NoteCaddy has the added functionality of Omaha, it is currently available as a beta though will soon be split into a seperate license.
Some of the improvements made include-
The NoteCaddy pop-up has been replaced with the 'Caddy Report', this is a live report that shows you recently added notes you can also see recently played hands and the amount won or lost. From here you can also replay the hand.
Note Caddy 2.0 also looks alot better and is more user friendly with an auto-updater and set-up wizard that walks you throught the steps of installation. There is also an array of videos that guide you through upgrading from NoteCaddy 1 to the new and improved NoteCaddy 2.0 or Colour coding with Note Caddy plus more.
Support is top notch from Note Caddy and the forum is very active with members helping each other with technical issues and sharing their unique definitions.
