PokerUtility interviews the developer of Tilt Breaker-

PokerUtility- Tell us about the origin of Tilt Breaker?

Tilt Breaker- Tilt Breaker originated from my own tilt habits. During one session in particular,I was getting

pretty steamed and reached my emotional threshold; needless to say the tilt virus took over my brain. I looked

directly at the blank space to my right, and raised my hand as if I were about to SLAM it down. In that moment I really

wished there was a button right in that space that I could just smash and get locked out of all my tables.

Thus the concept for Tilt Breaker was born. The idea has evolved a lot since then, but that was the core concept.

I am actually hoping to bring that physical button to the market place someday.


 
PokerUtility- How has Tilt Breaker changed your own game?

Tilt Breaker- I honestly haven’t been playing as much poker as I would like to lately, because I have been

busy working on Tilt Breaker. However, I can say without a doubt that if I had had Tilt Breaker in place during

the course of my poker career, I would definitely be playing higher stakes than I am now.

Tilt Breaker would have saved me tons.



PokerUtility- What options exist for customer support?

Tilt Breaker- You can get support from one of our three email addresses specifically for different types of

support, or you can make a post in our 2+2 thread. If I’m not sleeping, I will probably answer your email in

around a 1-2 hour time frame.

I live for good customer support, so I will be as prompt as possible.



PokerUtility-Can you give us a brief biography?

Tilt Breaker- I grew up in the States, and currently reside there. I am a 25 yr old budding entrepreneur.

I have a full time job to support the Tilt Breaker project, and plenty of financers in line to back it up; so we’re

not going anywhere anytime soon.

If you want to describe me in one word it would be : Ambitious.



PokerUtility- Give us an overview of Tilt Breaker and how it can help online poker players.

Tilt Breaker- Tilt Breaker is a Tilt Control, Automated Stop Loss, and Bankroll Management software.

Tilt Breaker is equipped to help you beat tilt, and self control issues permanently.

I believe every winning poker player has 3 key traits.

• Work Ethic
• Self Discipline

There are a lot of programs and resources out there that focus on the first two; such as training sites and

tools to help you play more tables for increased volume. But what is there for self discipline outside of generalized books,

and expensive 1 on 1 mental coaching? That is where Tilt Breaker comes in. I want Tilt Breaker to remove the

Self Discipline factor from the poker equation. Tilt Breaker is your uncompromising self discipline, a personal

bankroll bodyguard. Tilt Breaker will make sure you stick to your game plan; every time.

Tilt Breaker- We have one competitor, but that competitor relies on a 3rd party app in order to work.

Tilt Breaker is a standalone program, which allows us to integrate with the poker clients we support, so that we

can provide a much cleaner solution for our users.

Tilt Breaker was designed to minimize the risk of ever interfering with an active cash hand or a tournament.


PokerUtility- What's one thing that anyone purchasing TiltBreaker should know about it?

Tilt Breaker- You will never lose more money than you are comfortable with in a single session ever again. That’s a good feeling.


PokerUtility- What sites is TiltBreaker compatible with now? Do you plan to add more in the future?

Tilt Breaker- Right now Tilt Breaker supports PokerStars, Full Tilt, Absolute Poker, and Ultimate Bet.

We should  start adding support for Party Poker and iPoker in early 2011. After those are complete, the next

supported sites all depend on demand; so if your site isn’t support, get vocal in our 2+2 thread.




PokerUtility- What skill level is TiltBreaker best suited to?

Tilt Breaker- Tilt Breaker is really suited for all types of players. Self control issues permeate the whole

range of player types. I think the better question is “What Player Type is Tilt Breaker suited for”. I believe the

answer to that question is the Competitive Player type. The Competitive player is a type of player who refuses to

take a losing session and fights for every single pot.

The truth is though, that in poker, we have to learn to lose in order for us to win. That is a very hard concept for

the Competitive player to swallow, and that is why Tilt Breaker was developed.



PokerUtility- What features or additions are coming up that you can share with us?

Tilt Breaker- Currently, once you hit a pre set lockdown value, e.g.:
Stop Loss $
Stop Win $
Stop Time Played
Stop Hands Played
Stop Win Big Blinds
Stop Loss Big Blinds

TiltBreaker will automatically select “Sit Out Next Hand” on all cash tables, and then once the

customizable Delay Timer expires, TiltBreaker will close all open cash tables.

We are now adding options so that you can choose to have TiltBreaker check “Sit Out Next Big Blind” as opposed to

“Sit Out Next Hand”; and we are adding an alarm option to each value, so that you just get a notification when

you exceed a value instead of a lockdown.

We are also adding a Bankroll Manager feature that will allow you to set a custom bankroll rule for each

specific game type. For example, if you are just learning Omaha and want to make sure you don’t play higher

than $100 PLO; you can set that rule specifically in TiltBreaker, and still play any stake you want for Hold’em.

Or you can set a rule for all game types.

We have one more very exciting feature in the works, but I am not at liberty to discuss it yet. All I can say is

that TiltBreaker will become both the safe passage and the solution to tilt.

PokerUtility- How long was TiltBreaker in the Beta phase and what were some of your major hurdles?

Tilt Breaker- We were in beta for roughly 3 months. We had around 15 beta testers pumping out bug

reports and suggestions. The hurdles we encountered were just accounting for certain variables we did

not foresee. Nothing dramatic really.


PokerUtility- Do you have plans to release a Mac version?

Tilt Breaker- Not at the moment, but if I see adequate demand for it; it will happen.



PokerUtility- What game varieties is Tilt Breaker compatible with eg. Holde'em, Omaha?

Tilt Breaker- Tilt Breaker was thoroughly tested for Hold’em and Omaha game types, however

Tilt Breaker should theoretically work on all game types. If it doesn’t work on your preferred game type, shoot us

your log file and we will do our best to fix it!
